Looking for Migraine Relief?

I can’t tell you how many people we come across who suffer from chronic headaches and migraines. Migraines are a debilitating condition affecting 8-12% of Americans. In fact, migraines are estimated to cost $5-$17 billion in the US alone. Migraine sufferers tend to experience severe side effects including light sensitivity, digestive issues, and lethargy. Many times, they pop an Advil or Ibuprofen, close themselves off into a dark room and pray for the headache to pass. For people who lead busy lives, whether through work or parenthood or both, these migraines are not only a nuisance, but are downright disruptive.

Research shows that chiropractic may decrease duration, severity and frequency of migraines. While medications may help the headache symptoms that day, we prefer to look for a solution to the root cause. In addition, chiropractic doesn’t have all of the side effects of common medications used to treat headaches.

Research to support migraine and headache relief through chiropractic

In a case study published in 2005, a 49-year old woman sought chiropractic care for relief from her migraines. Her migraines first began after a terrible car accident. Over a 12-week period, her migraines decreased in severity and frequency. In addition, her pain levels decreased from a 7 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10.

We’ve had many practice members come to our office with chronic headaches and migraines, who never thought they would have had true relief. Through consistent chiropractic care, almost all of our practice member’s headaches have either decreased significantly or stopped altogether.
